-
How do I know that your teak is legal?
We have always had the environment first in mind when producing our products and always denied any trade of illegal teak. With our certificate, no IC-COC-100073, from FSC we are one of few companies in the marine business that proudly can say that we are just dealing with legal wood.
-
Is teak from Burma better?
Teak that have been growing slowly for hundreds of years is the best teak for marine purpose. But you can only find these trees deep in the Burmese rainforest. Cutting down these trees is illegal and a disaster for the environment. If instead you choose to use special selected teak from plantations they will probably outlive your boat anyway, so why destroy the environment.
After a lengthy and thorough durability test on selected teak wood from various locations and countries, the final report from The Swedish Institute of Wood Science, established that the geographical location of the teak forests is of no importance for the teak wood product quality.
